JSM High School Winter Camp - Session 4!

Good morning from Winter Camp! No better way to kick off our day than with a powerful time of worship...

This morning we started off talking about what an awesome night we had in worship last night and how many students made decisions to get in the fight…But as crazy as it may sound, even in the “safety” of camp, the enemy immediately starts attacking whenever he senses spiritual victories…

Kinda like in 1 Kings when Elijah has this mind-blowing experience where God shows up and shows out in front of the prophets of Baal. At this point Elijah is jacked up and feeling like through God’s power he can take on anything!

But then like 5 minutes later in 1 Kings 19 we find Elijah hiding out under a broom tree begging God just to take his life! He left behind his servants and the people that were supposed to be there to support him and just ran off!

Just like in battle, we might find ourselves waving the white flag declaring we just give up and are done fighting – But that’s okay, because God allows us to reengage in the battle! He WANTS us to reengage in the battle and He doesn’t give up on us because He loves us! Just like in 1 King 19, God may allow us to be broken, but then after a time of rest and feeding, if we listen, we’ll hear Him in a gentle whisper calling us back to the battle and back to the calling He’s placed on our life!
