JSM High School Winter Camp - Session 4!

This morning for Session 4 we did things a little differently.  The girls all split up with the girl leaders and the guys split up with the guy leaders to have open forum conversations. After about 45 minutes a couple of the guy leaders came in to share some of the things the guys said they struggled with and a couple of the girl leaders went over to share with the guys.

One of the first things the girls said is that they struggle trusting guys…But then we all had a good laugh when the guy leaders came in and said one the biggest things the guys said they struggle with trusting girls!

Our leaders shared with the girls how important it is to set the standard for how they expect to be treated and once that standard is established you shouldn’t compromise or settle. You have to have a foundation of your own self worth. If you think YOU’RE worth CRAP you’re going to attract CRAP. But sometimes girls choose to ignore red flags they see in guys because they’re so excited someone is interested in them.

Over where the guys were a lot of the same topics came up! Especially the importance of setting standards for how they treat both themselves and how they treat girls. The guy leaders talked to the students about the need for accountability and encouraged the students to find someone who they can share their burdens with and turn to when they need wise counsel and advice.

It's been awesome to see our leaders open up and be real with students about the things they struggle with too!
