JS Spring Retreat 2023 - Session 1

We are sooooo excited to be here at Spring Retreat 2023!!

The rain had us calling an audible with our schedule for the night so we kicked things off with a couple team challenges!

First off was the simple task of unraveling a couple rolls of streamers in their team colors!

Our band for the weekend brought some serious energy through worship tonight and we can't wait to worship with them more tomorrow!

Our special guest speaker this year is our very own Tracy Pressley and although our theme is all about light, we first needed to face the darkness...

...And for every one of us, that darkness could be something different - Feeling empty or lost or depressed or like no one cares or we're not good enough...And for some it could be a sin issue - lust, porn, greed, selfishness, jealousy, anger...

Tracy shared with us some key thoughts on darkness:

~We all naturally love darkness over light (Romans 3:10 & 23, John 3:19-20)

~The consequences of sin and darkness are never good (Romans 6:23a)

~But walking in darkness is optional and we have a choice (Ephesians 4:18)

After each session we have the chance to dig deeper and have real, honest conversations in our small groups where we're looking forward to a great weekend growing together!
